Slippin’ and slidin’
Peepin’ and hidin’
Been told a long time ago
Slippin’ and slidin’
Peepin’ and hidin’
Been told a long time ago
I’ve been told
Baby you’ve been bold
I won’t be your fool no more
Oh, big conniver
Nothin’ but a jive
Done got hip to your jiver
Oh, big conniver
Nothin’ but a jiver
Done got hip to your jive
Slippin’ and slidin’
Peepin’ and hidin’
Won’t be your feel no more

In 1956, those lyrics were made famous by the great blues/rock icon Little Richard (Richard Penniman, actually) – who, at age 86, is still with us, I’m happy to say.

Who could have anticipated that, 63 years later, they could have been the theme song of a presidential campaign.

But one look at the slippin’ and slidin’ of Joe Biden’s campaign rollout tells the story.

To say the least, it has been a rocky start.

First we had that kickoff ad, where he perpetuated the lie that Trump called neo-nazis and White supremacists “very fine people”.  Will media be able to bury the actual transcripts which debunk this lie a second time?  I wonder.

Then, in an effort to ingratiate himself to Black voters – whose near-monolithic support is an absolute necessity for any Democrat presidential candidate – Biden did two things:

1. He issued a 28 years-too-late “apology” to Anita Hill for how he treated her during the Clarence Thomas hearings (one she did not deserve; but, again, he has to galvanize Black support).

Hill very publicly did not accept his apology;

2. He hired the Black racist, symone sanders, as a senior adviser.

Not only is the reason for this hire – pandering to Black voters – cynically obvious, but I am betting that sanders is going to take so much flak from people she cares about, who will attack her as a sellout (i.e. working with an old White man, thus against the Black candidates in this race), that her stay with Biden will be a very short one.

And then there is the potentially game-ending scandal of how Biden used his power and influence as a Vice President to get his son, Hunter Biden, a multi-million dollar sweetheart deal with the Ukraine…and was amazingly foolish enough to get in front of the cameras and brag about doing so.

Yes, Joe Biden starts with great poll numbers – largely due to name recognition and the fact that he is not part of the LAMB (Lunatic-left And Mega-Moonbat Brigade) faction which has lurched Democrats so far from the mainstream.

But the heavy baggage described above, along with Mr. Biden’s multiple-fail history as a presidential candidate, and the fact that today’s Democrat Party has declared old White men as enemies?  I don’t see it happening.

Will primary voters tell Joe, Oh, big conniver, nothin’ but a jiver, done got hip to your jive?

We‘ll find out soon enough.
