WHERE THE CLINTON FOUNDATION MONEY GOES

I hope that, after all the years of watching how the Clinton’s operate, this does not surprise you.

From the Wall Street Journal, via Larry O’Connors’ eye-opening article at hotair.com:

A new report from the Wall Street Journal reveals how a $2 million grant arranged by the Clinton Global Initiative went to a private, for-profit company owned by long-time allies of the Clinton clan.

The Clinton Global Initiative, which arranges donations to help solve the world’s problems, set up a financial commitment that benefited a for-profit company part-owned by people with ties to the Clintons, including a current and a former Democratic official and a close friend of former President Bill Clinton.

The $2 million commitment was placed on the agenda for a September 2010 conference of the Clinton Global Initiative at Mr. Clinton’s urging, according to a document from the period and people familiar with the matter.

The company is called Energy Pioneer Solutions Inc., and was founded by Nebraska Democrat Scott Kleeb who ran several times, unsuccessfully, for congress. But, according to the Journal, the ties from the Clintons and the multiple owners of the company are wide and deep.

An internal document from that year showed it as owned 29% by Mr. Kleeb; 29% by Jane Eckert, the owner of an art gallery in Pine Plains, N.Y.; and 29% by Julie Tauber McMahon of Chappaqua, N.Y., a close friend of Mr. Clinton, who also lives in Chappaqua. Owning 5% each were Democratic National Committee treasurer Andrew Tobias and Mark Weiner, a supplier to political campaigns and former Rhode Island Democratic chairman, both longtime friends of the Clintons.

That stink bad enough for you?

Now:  when do the major networks – CBS, NBC and ABC – pick up on these charges?

And, for that matter, when do they provide us with a serious investigative report on The Clinton Foundation?

-When do they talk about the tiny fraction of incoming money that actually goes to charitable causes (the highest estimate I have seen is a minuscule 15%, but I’ve also seen less than 10%)?

If those estimates are wrong and most of the money goes to charitable causes, by all means trumpet that fact to the public so we can be happy with what The Foundation is achieving.  Be sure, of course, to list out where the money was spent and who it benefited.  But, if not, by all means tell us so.

The fact that they are doing no trumpeting at all probably provides the answer, doesn’t it? (Read this report and you’ll probably have an idea of why).

-When do they talk about the nine-figure contributions from Middle East oil sheiks, and what those sheiks would expect from it?

-When do they talk about the huge amount of money paid in salaries to the foundation’s staff?

-When do they talk about the fact that the high-end staff is has three times as many men as women, and pays those men, on average, 38% more than the women?  Since Hillary Clinton is basing her campaign on Women’s rights and equality in the workplace, wouldn’t that be just a bit meaningful?

I hope you don’t spend the next half year waiting for those investigative reports.  There’s got to be something more productive to do with your time than wait for something that almost certainly will not happen.
