THE WALLS CLOSING IN (CONT.): SCHIFF’S LETTER

Is Adam Schiff worried?

Read the following excerpts from Morgan Chalfant’s article at thehill.com, then  you tell me:

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) on Friday asked for in-person briefings from U.S. intelligence chiefs regarding President Trump’s directive that they comply with Attorney General William Barr’s inquiry into the origins of the Russia investigation.

Schiff sent letters to agency heads requesting “all documents, material, or information” provided or made available to Barr as part of his review. The attorney general is reviewing the intelligence collected on the Trump campaign in 2016 — which Barr has described as “spying” — to determine whether it was adequately predicated.

“This approach threatens national security by subverting longstanding rules and practices that obligate you and other heads of IC agencies to safeguard sources and methods and prevent the politicization of intelligence and law enforcement,” Schiff wrote in the letter to Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats.

“In the wake of the directive, the Committee will conduct rigorous, ongoing oversight of your agency and others in the IC to ensure that the Attorney General does not abuse his new and sweeping authority,” Schiff wrote in the Coats letter.

Both the FBI and CIA declined to comment.

Ooooohhh  Adam Schiff is worried.

About what, Adam?  Aren’t you the guy who, for 2 1/2 years, has told us you have “ample evidence” that President Trump colluded with Russia to fix the 2016 election and obstructed justice to prevent anyone from finding out about it?

Uh……..where’s that evidence, Adam?  robert mueller, and an all-Democrat team of get-Trumpists, scoured every nook and cranny for two years, and their final report said no collusion and insufficient evidence to pursue even one charge of obstruction.

Either you are a Trump loyalist, willfully withholding that “ample evidence” you’ve touted all this time…

…or you are a loudmouth blowhard BS artist with a credibility level that would make Baghdad Bob blush.

And now you’re scared excrementless that there is finally scrutiny on how an evidenceless witch hunt like mueller’s ever came to be.  And you want to be the arbiter in charge of what should and shouldn’t be looked into.

I guess, in addition to your “ample evidence” of collusion and obstruction, you also have “ample evidence” that a dishonest house member who has made an absolute fool of himself for all this time is supposed to get that job.

Feel the walls closing in, Adam?

I can’t say I blame you.

Here are two paragraphs along with the link.
Remember that federal investigations by prosecutors, including special counsels, are by their very nature one sided. They hear only evidence of guilt and not exculpatory evidence. Their witnesses are not subject to the adversarial process. There is no cross examination. The evidence is taken in secret behind the closed doors of a grand jury. For that very reason, prosecutors can only conclude whether there is sufficient evidence to commence a prosecution. They are not in a position to decide whether the subject of the investigation is guilty or is innocent of any crimes.
That determination of guilt or innocence requires a full adversarial trial with a zealous defense attorney, vigorous cross examination, exclusionary rules of evidence, and other due process safeguards. Such safeguards were not present in this investigation, and so the suggestion by Mueller that Trump might well be guilty deserves no credence. His statement, so inconsistent with his long history, will be used to partisan advantage by Democrats, especially all those radicals who are seeking impeachment.
