Today’s quote comes to us from Vermont’s socialist senator, and – at least until tomorrow when Joe Biden might announce – leading Democrat candidate for the presidential nomination, Bernie Sanders.
At a Monday “town hall” meeting, Senator Sanders was asked whether convicted felons who are currently in jail, should be given the right to vote.
He was specifically asked whether dzhokhar tsarnaev, one of the two brothers who bombed the Boston Marathon years ago (3 dead, hundreds injured, everyone terrorized) should be given the right to vote.
Here was his answer:
“I think the right to vote is inherent to our democracy, yes, even for terrible people, because once you start chipping away … you’re running down a slippery slope. I believe that people commit crimes, they pay the price, but when they get out of jail they certainly should have the right to vote. But I do believe that even if they are in jail paying their price to society, that should not take away their inherent American right to participate in our democracy.”
Sanders’ support for convicted felons, including (but not limited to) convicted terrorist murderers, to vote was so sickening that even people like New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and the entertainer, Cher, came out against him.
But, there he is. That is his belief. That is what he will support if elected President…when he’s not busy nationalizing our industries and crapping on Israel (Sanders is the classic self-hating Jew).
I award Bernie Sanders Quote Of The Day “honors” for being honest enough to tell us one of the many reasons he should never get near the Oval Office…with (dis)honorable mentions to all his followers who think the tsarnaevs of the world have as much of a right to vote as decent human beings do.
