Today’s quote comes to us from Michael Bloomberg – or, at any rate, from the Bloomberg campaign with his approval.

In an attempt to sell himself to voters –  or, more exactly, to buy a positive image of himself to voters, Mr. Bloomberg has enlisted the efforts of; a website which promises to do just that via social media.  You pay, and Tribe provides people who will speak up for you.

Phony and cynical? Yes and yes.

But, at a $150 a pop, Bloomberg can buy an awful lot of people willing to do it.

From Scott Bixby’s article for

For a fixed $150 fee, the Bloomberg campaign is pitching micro-influencers—someone who has from 1,000 to 100,000 followers, in industry parlance—to create original content “that tells us why Mike Bloomberg is the electable candidate who can rise above the fray, work across the aisle so ALL Americans feel heard & respected.”

And here is a partial sampling of how his “buy myself a positive image” effort is being presented there:

“Show+Tell why Mike is the candidate who can change our country for the better, state why YOU think he’s a great candidate,”

My three-word reaction?Ugh.  Yech.  Feh.

I award Michael Bloomberg Quote Of The Day “honors” for finding g yet another way of showing us that his campaign is little more than a cynical effort to purchase the presidency.
