INFANTICIDE AS A PARTISAN ISSUE

Infanticide.

It seems impossible that this would be an issue at all, let alone a partisan issue.  But, incredibly, it is.  And, because of most mainstream media’s efforts, it is a relatively unknown one.

Suppose a woman decides to have an abortion late enough in her pregnancy so that she is carrying a live child.

You can stop right there, can’t you?  There is a live child inside of her.  This is no longer “a woman’s right to choose”, as if someone else’s life were not in the equation, it is “a woman’s right to choose to kill her live baby”.

But let’s not stop there.  Let’s suppose that the woman decides to abort her pregnancy anyway…and the live child survives the abortion attempt.

Now we are not talking about a pregnancy.  We are talking about a live child outside the womb.

Does the mother of this live child have a right to tell her doctor “I don’t want this child, let it die”?  And does the doctor have the right to deny care to the child so that the mother’s wish, her dead child, is granted?

That is the infanticide we are talking about.

And that is the issue Republicans are currently addressing in legislation – legislation Democrats have spent years trying to block, both on a national and state level (long-time readers of this blog know that Barack Obama, as a state senator, was instrumental in killing such a bill in Illinois.  Doubt me?  Then click here and scroll about half way down (read the other blogs too.  They’re pretty good).

Now back to today.

Please read this excerpt from Bill McMorris’s article at freebeacon.com:

House Republicans want to hold Democrats accountable for the party’s near-unanimous opposition to caring for babies who survive abortion.

The GOP is pushing a bill that would force doctors to provide life-saving care to babies who survive abortions. The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act failed in the Senate after only three Democrats crossed the aisle to support it, falling short of the 60-vote threshold. The Democrat-controlled House has blocked a similar bill from even coming to a floor vote, leading congressional Republicans to launch a discharge petition to rescue it from dying in committee.

GOP whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R., La.) is spearheading the petition drive. His outreach effort to Democrats, however, has only yielded three signatures—putting him 18 votes short of getting the bill out of the Judiciary Committee. Scalise said Democrats will not be able to dodge the issue.

“I hope they recognize that the country is paying attention now,”…

“You can’t go home and explain that you support the murder of babies born alive,” he said.

How can decent human beings vote against such legislation?  What argument can there possibly be to do so?

Is their point that “The mother didn’t want the baby”?

Then what if a mother, instead of a few minutes after she gives birth, decides she doesn’t want the baby a few days after she gives birth?  A few weeks?  A few months?  Does she have the right to deny the child care and let it die then too?  And, if not, why not?  Try to show me the difference.

This is infanticide.  Plain and simple.  No excuses.

And politicians who are so beholden to the abortion-anytime-anywhere crowd (read that as Planned Parenthood) that they that cannot bring themselves to vote against infanticide, have no heart and no soul.

  • We already have laws to protect women who don’t want their babies. They can just drop them off at any hospital no questions asked.

  • Thank you for imposing the diabolical issue of Abortion. It is hard to believe that legislative murder (Roe vs Wade) started 46 years ago. Since Cain vs Abel it has become a deliberate behavior because of ignorance and/or rebellion. Cain had a choice according to Genesis chapter 4! Moses survived abortion from Pharaoh in Egypt and Exodus is the resulting history. Our permanent deliverer survived strategic abortion by King Herod. Joe & Mary exited to Egypt and Jesus Christ provided His New Covenant! I recently learned about several abortion survivors. One of them I met in person when Gianna Jessen spoke about her ordeal of abortion at a Pro Life event in Decatur IL! She is an amazing person.

How is it that our divided and supposedly intelligent and advanced civilization called America legislates immorality? Do they actually believe in the STORK? We all got here through a WOMB people! Which point from conception to birth are we not human? The ultrasound called my Grandchild is learning how to drive an automobile. How many Americans exiting the WOMB need to be murdered before we wake up? This is worse than a nightmare because voters and legislators are more concerned about benefits and pensions and retirement than LIFE! This is a First World Nation?
