Today is not a good day for the entertainment industry.
Julius La Rosa, a talented singer who, famously, was fired on-air by Arthur Godfrey during his radio broadcast, then continued a successful singing and acting career, then became a successful radio disc jockey (no, not rock’n’roll), has passed away at the age of 86.
And Madeleine LeBeau, who played Yvonne in the classic movie Casablanca and was the last living actor who had a speaking part in that movie, is dead at the age of 92. Ms. LeBeau died two weeks ago, but it is just being reported now.
Two important entertainment personalities from different eras, both gone.
Sad.
