Today’s quote comes to us from Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY), a super-rich* “progressive” (read that left wing) Democrat, who is happy to toe the party line on Trump hatred.
Yesterday, while on CNN’s “The Arena” broadcast, Goldman was asked by host Abby Phillip “… it sounds like you’re confident that the American people will not hold you all responsible for a shutdown. How can you be so sure?”
His answer:
“The clear desire and the clear intention to use immigration enforcement to help steal this upcoming election, as Kristi Noem has said that she effectively intends to do, this is a massive massive five-alarm fire that needs to be addressed.”
Huh????? Deporting illegal aliens is an attempt to steal the 2026 elections????
Maybe it’s just me, but I would think that an attempt to keep illegal aliens in the country – who therefore owe their residence here to Democrats, thus will presumably vote for them if given a chance (legally or otherwise) to do so – is the opportunity to steal elections.
But wait; that’s not all.
When Phillip then followed up with “…you just said that she’s trying to use ICE immigration officers to steal the upcoming election…What does that look like? Specifically what do you think that they are trying to do”, here was Goldman’s response:
“They…were able to swear out a search warrant… to search the Fulton County Board of Elections for 2020 results. Then they demanded that Minnesota turn over voter rolls in order for the ICE officers to withdraw. Now, Kristi Noem is saying that she’s going to take it into her own control to make sure the right people vote. And what this all is sort of geared around is this completely bogus SAVE Act… They’re trying to suppress the vote, they’re trying to take over voting machines and voter roles and they’re trying to rig this election.
My response to this is the same as my response to the other quote: huh?????
Can someone show me what evidence Goldman cited to explain his claim that these actions – which Republicans claim are being pursued because there was illegal voting in Fulton County (Atlanta) and Minnesota – are an attempt to rig elections? ‘
Does Goldman provide any evidence to back that accusation up? Or any basis for calling the SAVE Act – which does nothing other than insure only legal voters are allowed to vote, and which every poll shows is supported by a vast majority in the country, INCLUDING DEMOCRATS – “completely bogus”?
No, and no.
I therefore award Rep. Dan Goldman Quote Of The Day “honors” for showing us so clearly that a) he has no problem reciting talking points with nothing to back them up and b) he apparently thinks (or, at any rate, hopes) there are enough SIP Democrats** who will buy what he is selling to make this a winning issue for his party.

**A SIP is someone who is so Stupid, and/or so Ignorant, and/or so Partisan that it doesn’t matter what a member of their party says, it will be unquestionably accepted.
