BASHING TRUMP IN MUNICH

The Munich Security Conference, held every February, is a forum for international leaders to discuss and debate security issues.

This year, however, Democrats – including Hillary Clinton, Gavin Newsom and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (among others) – none of whom are international leaders (Clinton hasn’t been for a decade, Newsom and Ocasio-Cortez never were), showed up there.  They have offered little other than ongoing personal attacks on President Trump.  (Never mind that an international forum such as this is exactly the wrong forum to bash your own country’s leader.  After all, they are Democrats and they are attacking Trump, so it’s OK.)

In this context, I thought you might be interested in the following exchange between Hillary Clinton – the one among them who has international credentials – and Petr Macinka , the Czech Deputy Prime Minister.

From Victor Nava’s article for the New York Post:

Hillary Clinton bristled at the Munich Security Conference over the weekend when Czech Deputy Prime Minister Petr Macinka attempted to defend President Trump’s policies.

Clinton raged that Trump has “betrayed the West” and is seeking “unaccountable power” by “modeling himself” after Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a panel discussion at the high-profile forum in Germany.

Macinka, who also serves as foreign minister of the Czech Republic, gently mocked the failed 2016 presidential candidate’s anger towards Trump.

“First, I think you really don’t like him,” Macinka said in response to Clinton’s rant.

To which Clinton shot back: “That is absolutely true, but I really, not only do I not like him, I don’t like him because of what he’s doing to the United States and the world, and I think you should take a hard look at it if you think that there is something good that will come out of it.”

Macinka went on to assess Trump’s second-term approach as an appropriate response to the far-left attitudes that gripped American policies and culture in recent years.

“Well, what I think Trump is doing in America, I think that it is a reaction … for some policies that really went too far, too far from the regular people, too far from reality,” the Czech official said, before Clinton interrupted him again.

“Like what? Give us an example,” the former secretary of state demanded.

The article continues, in the same fashion:  Hillary Clinton – who, let’s remember, lost the presidency to Trump in 2016 – bashing him during an international forum, and demanding – in an offensive, demeaning way – that a foreign leader explain his defense of her own country’s elected head of state.

And then there is our mainstream media.

How many of them have pointed out that attacking your own President in this type of forum has – at least until Trump – been considered a way-over-the-line thing to do?   That you don’t attack your own elected leader in such a forum?

Do you need the fingers on more than one hand to count out the major news venues which are reminding us that – at least until Trump – this was considered an inappropriate, even stupid-as-hell, thing to do?  Do you even need the one entire hand?

But these are Democrats and Trump is a Republican.  So, for most of our media, those rules don’t apply.

Then they wonder why fewer and fewer people trust them???  Unbelievable.
