Who/what is Fusion GPS?

Fusion GPS, founded in 2009, is an intelligence-gathering organization which has, for years, provided opposition research – mostly to Democrats.   Last year, it was the source of a now-discredited dossier on Donald Trump, put together by Christopher Steele, an apparently accuracy-challenged operative Fusion GPS had retained.

Now, we find out that Fusion GPS is also front-and-center in the meeting Donald Trump Jr. had in June, 2015 with natalia veselnitskaya….

…and, as was gleefully reported yesterday, a shadowy Russian operative named Rinat Akhmetshin.

Not at all surprisingly, much of mainstream media are quickly reporting this as some kind of proof that there really, truly was skulduggery afoot between Trump Jr. and Russian nationals.

Boil him in oil, and his father with him.

You can read the NBC news account – which references the Associated Press account as well, by clicking here.

But there is a problem – one that both NBC and the AP somehow neglected to mention.

The problem?  Rinat Akhmetshin, like natalia veselnitskaya, works on behalf of Fusion GPS – the opposition research company being paid to take down Donald Trump; the one which has already shamed itself with a BS dossier that even the Trump-hating media have discounted.

And if the media engaging in this frontal attack on Trump & Co. wanted to report this information – i.e. wanted to act like actual journalists and report the entire story – it was right there for the taking.

How easy would it have been for NBC, AP or anyone else to find this out?  Well, redstate.com, a conservative website, was able to quickly put up a letter from Republican Senator Charles Grassley – dated March 31 – months before the Trump Jr. meeting took place, which specifically identified Akhmetshin as a Fusion GPS operative.  Click here to see for yourself.

And Forbes Magazine found it – a month ago.  From Paul Roderick Gregory’s article of June 19th (bold print is mine):

According to an insider account, the Clinton team, put together the Russia Gate narrative within 24 hours of her defeat. The Clinton account explained that Russian hacking and election meddling caused her unexpected loss. Her opponent, Donald Trump, was a puppet of Putin. Trump, they said, “encourages espionage against our people.” The scurrilous Trump dossier, prepared by a London opposition research firm, Orbis, and paid for by unidentified Democrat donors, formed a key part of the Clinton narrative: Trump’s sexual and business escapades in Russia had made him a hostage of the Kremlin, ready to do its bidding. That was Hillary’s way to say that Trump is really not President of the United States—a siren call adopted by the Democratic party and media.

The most under covered story of Russia Gate is the interconnection between the Clinton campaign, an unregistered foreign agent of Russia headquartered in DC (Fusion GPS), and the Christopher Steele Orbis dossier. This connection has raised the question of whether Kremlin prepared the dossier as part of a disinformation campaign to sow chaos in the US political system. If ordered and paid for by Hillary Clinton associates, Russia Gate is turned on its head as collusion between Clinton operatives (not Trump’s) and Russian intelligence. Russia Gate becomes Hillary Gate.

The Fusion story has been known since Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) sent a heavily-footnoted letter to the Justice Department on March 31, 2017 demanding for his Judiciary Committee all relevant documents on Fusion GPS, the company that managed the Steele dossier against then-candidate Donald Trump. Grassley writes to justify his demand for documents that: “The issue is of particular concern to the Committee given that when Fusion GPS reportedly was acting as an unregistered agent of Russian interests, it appears to have been simultaneously overseeing the creation of the unsubstantiated dossier of allegations of a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians.” (Emphasis added.)

Former FBI director, James Comey, refused to answer questions about Fusion and the Steele dossier in his May 3 testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee. Comey responded to Lindsey Graham’s questions about Fusion GPS’s involvement “in preparing a dossier against Donald Trump that would be interfering in our election by the Russians?” with “I don’t want to say.” Perhaps he will be called on to answer in a forum where he cannot refuse to answer.

The role of Fusion GPS and one of its key associates, a former Soviet intelligence officer, must raise the question as to whether the Steele dossier, which was orchestrated by a suspected unregistered agent of Russia, was a plant by Russian intelligence to harm Donald Trump?

How could any coverage of the meeting between Trump Jr. and these people not contain this information?

Is there any explanation other than the fact these so-called “neutral” venues have flushed professional journalism straight down the crapper in an effort to undo the 2016 election?

If you can come up with one, please let me know.  Because I can’t.

  • You raise some very valid questions about the imaginary coagulation of The Rooshins and The Donald.
Two things will make it all very, very clear:

1 – Read George Orwell’s Animal Farm again.

2 – Identify which planet (or which galaxy) the RWM is on
    [Raving Wacko Media].

  • By what the D’s and the msm are doing to Trump they are doing Russia’s bidding.
Maybe they are the puppets of Russia???
Perhaps everyone that isn’t on-board with bringing down Trump’s presidency should start mentioning that the democrats including media are puppets of Putin every time they are interviewed or write an article.
It is time to start fighting fire with fire within reason. Which means don’t outright lie like media and dems do.
