QUEEN HILLARY AND THE SUNDAY SHOWS

While driving to Manhattan, then to a Mother\’s Day get-together (which was great, by the way, just as it always is), we put on CBS Newsradio 880.  Before the traffic report we wanted to hear (after which my wife controls the radio, which means it\’s music, music, music), there was a story on politics.

I can\’t provide the exact words, but Jim Taylor, the newscaster (who may or may not have written what he was reading – probably not) informed us that it\’s Sunday, and if you\’re a candidate for the presidency that means you are on the Sunday morning shows.  He then played clips of two Republican candidates.

But he played no clips of Hillary Clinton, who is a Democrat presidential candidate and has been for a month (she announced – by video, rather than live – on April 12).

Why wouldn\’t he play something from Hillary?  She currently is the heavy favorite to the the Democrat nominee and, given that this was the fourth full weekend since she announced, there must have been plenty of material to choose from.

The reason is a simple one.  Hillary Clinton has not been on any Sunday shows.  Not a one.  And it certainly is not because the shows wouldn\’t love to have her.  It is because Hillary Clinton, playing her role of Queen Hillary, has decided not to subject herself to interviewers\’ questions.  Not even the softball questions she might get from Hillary-friendly people hosts George Stephanopoulos, Chuck Todd, etc.

In a previous blog, I noted that when Republican Carly Fiorino announced, she answered something like 50 questions about her candidacy and her stands on issues the first day of her candidacy.

By contrast, in all venues combined, Queen Hillary has so far answered a total of 8 questions.

If a Republican who was odds-on to win his/her party\’s nomination ever did this, you would hear the howls from newsrooms in NY, LA and DC to wherever you live – even if you\’re currently overseas.

But Queen Hillary?  CBS\’s Jim Taylor did not even make mention of it….in keeping with just about every other supposed “journalist”  – all of whom should have started talking about Ms. Clinton\’s purposeful ignoring of media weeks ago.

It\’s good to have a D after your name.  And ten times as good if your name is Hillary.

As for our wonderful “neutral” media?  A recent poll shows it to be seen as even less trustworthy than congress.  They certainly are earning that vote of non-confidence, aren\’t they?
