With a warning that there is foul language in it…
…here is a sign that was put up by the owner of the EAV Barbell Club in the East Atlanta Village section of Atlanta, Georgia:

From Faith Abubey and Michael King’s article for NBC’s Atlanta affiliate, WXIA:
A shocking and vulgar sign about police officers has been posted in front of a local business in Atlanta.
11Alive’s Faith Abubey talked to the gym’s owner, who is not making any apologies for putting up the sign.
Despite the backlash, Chambers says he still stands by the message it conveyed.
“We’ve had an explicitly stated ‘No Cop’ policy since we opened, and we also don’t open membership to active members of the military,” he said.
He says groups who work out there are generally minorities who are uncomfortable with the presence of law enforcement agents.
The question now is what happens if Chambers or anyone inside the gym needs the police.
Chambers says they never have, and won’t ever need the help of officers. He says he plans to put the ‘No Cop’ sign back up without the foul language.
No police allowed? No members of the military allowed? And, hey, we won’t ever need police anyway?
If you’re into hatred, and mindless bravado, I’m sure this gym will happily accept your membership application.
But I have a few of questions for gym owner jim chambers:
-Do you allow Black police or Black military personnel in the gym?
-If you don’t, do you think your refusal to accept Black membership might be uncomfortable with them being turned away? How about their families?
-And if someone should rob the place, or show up with guns and start shooting, will you pledge to your membership that no police will be called? Why don’t you see how they feel about it?
Do you need me to tell you what a hate-soaked, big-mouthed moron this is? I certainly hope not.
I rarely hope for people to fail in business. But if this guy’s gym goes under, I won’t lose one second’s sleep.
