Here’s a riddle for you: what happens in a midterm election when a President with approval ratings in the 30’s tells voters to pretend he is on the ballot?
The answer is what happened yesterday.
As of this moment, Democrats not only have erased the Republicans’ 53-47 senate majority, they will now have a 54-44 majority, with two seats not yet determined.
And as of this moment Democrats have not only erased the Republican’s bare majority in the house, but they have a 228-139 majority, with 68 seats not yet determined).
That is not just a beating. That is not just a rout. That is a tidal wave.
Now watch/listen to Trump tell you he had little if anything to do with this disaster for his party. Since, in his world, he never does anything wrong and everyone who disagrees with him is deficient, stupid or worse, it’s 100% on them. Not him. After all, look at the crowds he gets wherever he speaks, right?
Republicans will now have two years to deal with a congress controlled by Democrats – who (this is their disaster) are now, to a great extent, controlled by the hard left. And two years to deal with a lame duck President the country is extremely disaffected with.
What will they do? I’m glad I’m not the one who has to figure that out.
