Why do I sometimes just give up and just stop reading an article? Let me give an example. Here is the first sentence of Gabriel Sherman\’s article in New York Magazine: In the fallout since the first GOP debate, Fox News chairman Roger Ailes has found himself caught between Donald Trump, who has the full backing of Fox\’s misogynist audience, and Megyn Kelly, the star...
As a middle child myself, I can\’t say the picture you are about to look at has much to do with my situation. And I doubt that these three golden retiever puppies (or maybe golden labs) think much about it either. I doubt they even know which of them is which. But they are so unbelievably cute that I thought I would post it anyway. Enjoy.
Former President Jimmy Carter has announced that he has cancer, which has spread to his liver and other parts of his body. I doubt that you need a medical team to tell you what his prognosis is, especially at the age of 90. Whatever our political differences – and they are deep – I am very sorry for Mr. Carter\’s illness, and hope that they somehow can put it in...
Here is the first sentence of Peter Nicholas and Colleen McCain Nelson\’s article for today\’s Wall Street Journal: Vice President Joe Biden is using part of his vacation in South Carolina this week to sound out friends and family about a presidential bid, as some Democrats press him to enter the race and give the party another option in the face of lingering controversies involving...
You\’ve heard of ObamaCare? Well, now we have ClintonCare. ClintonCare is what media provide when they realize their darling is sinking like the Titanic, and there is nobody – at least as of now – to fill the void, other than an unelectable 73 year old far leftist no one ever heard of until a month ago, who isn\’t even a Democrat (he magically became one to challenge...
My sister just sent me this explanation of the difference between men and women. It is snarky, unfair, steretypical…..and funny as hell, with both genders getting nailed pretty well. See if you found it as entertaining (and, sometimes, insightful) as I did: WHY MEN ARE NEVER DEPRESSED: Men Are Just Happier People — What do you expect from such simple creatures...
This is an easy blot to write. Because there is no writing – only the following excerpts from Ron Fournier\’s article for National Journal, in which he dissects the already-large, and rapidly growing, Hillary Clinton email disaster: The FBI is investigating the security of her email system, which she unequivocally declared to be ironclad in March. “There is no classified...
If this doesn\’t make you laugh – or spontaneously disgorge any food or drink you might have in your mouth at the time – you are catatonic. The following verbatim, stated on today\’s “Morning Joe” show, comes from Amy Kumar of the McClatchy Group – who, having written about Hillary Clinton\’s email scandal, now is trying to...
Do you really think that Hillary Clinton\’s drives, just siezed by the FBI, but held for months by Clinton, have not been scrubbed eight ways from Sunday? Maybe the FBI and its people can retrieve what was there and maybe it can\’t. But let\’s be realistic about what we\’re dealing with here.
Today\’s quote comes to us from NBC\’s Kristen Welker. During this morning\’s report on The Today Show, which discussed several Republican Presidential candidates, Ms. Welker had this to say about Jeb Bush, who attacked Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for allowing ISIS to grow to its current massive strength: “In his first major foreign policy speech...
A young man becomes violent, ignores police instructions to stop and winds up shot….and it is the police\’s fault. It\’s Michael Brown all over again. Excerpted from an article posted on the CBS News-Dallas web site (more on this article further on): Taylor was shot and killed by Officer Brad Miller early Friday morning inside an Arlington car dealership that Taylor, a...
Here is the beginning of what is nothing short of a severely damaging article about Hillary Clinton\’s email scandal, written by McClatchy\’s Anita Kumar, Marisa Taylor and Greg Gordon: As pressure builds on Hillary Clinton to explain her official use of personal email while serving as secretary of state, she faced new complications Tuesday. It was disclosed her top aides are being...
Baltimore has just achieved a milestone. But somehow I doubt there will be any celebration. Yesterday, the 200th homicide was recorded. If this pace continues through the rest of the year, there will be a total of about 325. Last year, on this date, the total was 131. And the yearly total was 211 – which should be exceeded before August is over. Great job, Mayor...
Today\’s paragraph(s) come to us from Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT). They are a part of his speech regarding the Senate Finance Committee\’s report on the about the IRS\’s selective treatment of groups applying for 501(c)4 tax exemptions which had names suggesting they might oppose President Barack Obama\’s policies: Regardless of whether an explicit directive was...
As I write this, the per-barrel cost of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil has dropped to $43.31. That is below the lowest closing price in the last five years ($43.39 on March 17th). In March, gasoline prices in my area dropped to the $1.70\’s….and were in the $1.60\’s elsewhere in New Jersey. Now, they are in the $2.25 – $2.40 range. The fact that prices...
