OBAMACARNAGE: NOW THE HOSPITAL CLOSINGS

Well, look at the bright side:  at least President Obama didn\’t say “If you like your hospital you can keep your hospital.  Period.”

Now, as the unworkable monstrosity called ObamaCare progresses (or maybe regresses is a more appropriate word), we have this, excerpted from Sarah Hurtubise\’s article at dailycaller.com:

Thefourth Georgia hospital in two years is closing its doors due tosevere financial difficulties caused by Obamacare\’s payment cutsfor emergency services.

TheLower Oconee Community Hospital is, for now, a critical accesshospital in southeastern Georgia that holds 25 beds. The hospital issuffering from serious cash-flow problems, largely due to the area\’s23 percent uninsured population, and hopes to reopen as “some kindof urgent care center,” CEO Karen O\’Neal said.

Manyhospitals in the 25 states that rejected the Medicaid expansion arefacing similar financialproblems. Liberal administration ally Think Progress hasalready faultedGeorgia for not expanding Medicaid as Obamacare envisioned.

Butthe reality is more complicated. The federal government hashistorically made payments to hospitals to cover the cost ofuninsured patients seeking free medical care in emergency rooms, asfederal law mandates that hospitals must care for all patientsregardless of their ability to pay.

Becausethe Affordable Care Act\’s authors believed they\’d forced allstates to implement the Medicaid expansion, Obamacare vastly cuthospital payments, the Associated Press reports.

Are you surprised by this? I hope not. Because nothing in this woeful system is working well, so why should hospitals fare better than anyone or anything else?

On the other hand, we do have “Think Progress” (and, I have no doubt, other similarly-disposed groups) stating that these problems are not related to ObamaCare itself, only to the mistakes of others, who do not see it as the catch-all end-all solution to health care in the USA.  And don\’t doubt that there are people who will buy what they are selling.

Do you?  I hope you\’re smarter than that.

Hey, here\’s an idea:  maybe President Obama can trot out Rep. Frank Pallone to tell us that they are lousy hospitals with scam services, and no one wants to stay in them anyway…the way he did about the insurance policies millions of people were bounced out of, because they did not conform to the Obama fantasists\’ vision of what correct insurance should be.

Then Debbie Wasserman Schultz can assure us, again, that Democrats will proudly be running on ObamaCare this year…
