Mike Bloomberg and Hillary Clinton: is this a dream ticket, or a Dem nightmare?
Well, if Rachel Sharp’s article for the London Daily Mail is on to something, we just might find out. Here is the “bullet” summary:
- Mike Bloomberg is considering Hillary Clinton as his running mate, source says
- Polling found the Bloomberg-Clinton combination would be a formidable force to take on Trump in the race for the White House
- Bloomberg is said to be considering changing his official residence because the electoral college makes it tough for president and VP to reside in the same state
In other words – assuming the above information is real (a very, very big assumption given the nuttiness of the idea) – Michael Bloomberg has determined that announcing Hillary Clinton as his running mate will boost his vote total. So he is considering doing so…and changing his residence in order to sidestep the 12th amendment (which says both members of a ticket cannot be from the same state) to make it happen.
Wow.
Am I misremembering, or isn’t Hillary Clinton the candidate who lost to Donald Trump in 2016? And isn’t Michael Bloomberg a three-time Mayor of New York City…with a 12 year “stop and frisk” – or should I say, “throw them up against the wall and frisk” problem?
Assuming my memory is in good working order, this means the combination of a candidate who already lost to Trump, and a New Yorker with a major minority-voter problem who moves to maybe Colorado or Florida and pretends it is his home state, is supposed to unseat the incumbent.
Have these people gone stark raving mad?
This looks to me like lunacy on steroids. But I have to admit it’s more than a little entertaining.
Mike and Hill: oh, the Saturday Night Live sketches you will inspire.

Tickets for that cat fight will sell out real quick.
That comment about the Electoral college Making it tough for the Candidates for president and vice president residing in the same state . . . .
That comment appears in several of today’s columns in different publications. . . . . Specifically mentioning the electoral college prohibiting . . .
Apparently there is only one person who writes all these columns, because they all contain the same error.
The Constitution’s 12th amendment :
Electors meet in their respective States
Electors vote in separate ballots for president and vice president. . . . . At least one of whom must Reside in a different state than the elector.
Mikey and hilly don’t stand a chance of cramming a last minute change of residency at this point in time .
( Slowly looking around to see if there are any more two bit constitutional scholars here).
