LEFT WING “CIVILITY” – NEW YORK TIMES STYLE

Ken Berwitz

As any regular reader knows, I often blog about what I call New York Times “idiotorials”.
In case you\’re wondering who edits them….
….please read Clay Waters\’ remarkable rundown of the unreasoning – and sometimes fact-challenged – hatred Times Editorial Page Editor andrew rosenthal displays in discussing Republican aspirants for their party\’s presidential nomination.
Here are just the first two paragraphs:

New York Times editorialpage editor Andrew Rosenthal appeared on the nytimes.com “Inside TheTimes” podcast and insulted every Republican candidate in nasty, personalterms, throwing around the words “idiot” and “xenophobic”and insulting Justice Clarence Thomas in stark racially loaded fashion.Rosenthal then said the 1988 George H.W. Bush campaign used the Pledge of Allegianceas an issue “deliberately and specifically intended to remind Americansthat Michael Dukakis was of Greek descent and therefore suspect.”

Over theyears Rosenthal has repeatedly revealed himself to be a charmless and classlesscritic of conservatives, and not all that up on current events.

Please, please use the link I\’ve provided for Mr. Waters\’ entire piece.  There is a ton more than what you just read.

Enjoy, for example, the fun of reading rosenthal\’s charge that Fox News tried to ban Carly Fiorino from the next debate…as you remind yourself that it was CNN, not Fox, which means rosenthal didn\’t know what he was talking about.  Then count up the viciously nasty personal attacks and wild charges.  See where you wind up.

If you ever wondered how The Times could publish the succession of idiotorials I blog about, this article should tell you, loud and clear.
