JOBLESSNESSNESS

I decided to invent a new word for this blog:  joblessnessness.

To be jobless is to be without a job. Joblessness is the state of being without a job…

…and joblessnessness is when there is very little joblessness.  As in right now.

From Jeffrey Bartash’s article at marketwatch.com, we learn that jobless claims in the last week of January were at just 202,000.  That is 15,000 less than the month before, and is, in Mr. Bartash’s words, “close to a postrecession low, signaling the U.S. labor market is still rock solid despite stiffer economic headwinds.”

It is also another indicator that our economy – unlike much of the rest of the world – is not just doing well, it is doing exceptionally well.

Joblessnessness.  May it continue for months and years to come.
