FOR ANYONE WHO THINKS THE IRAN DEAL IS NOT A DISASTER…

…we have this, from Yuri Gripas\’s article at Reuters:

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said a speech by Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on Saturday vowing to defy American policies in the region despite a deal with world powers over Tehran\’s nuclear programme was “very disturbing”.

“I don\’t know how to interpret it at this point in time, except to take it at face value, that that\’s his policy,” he said in the interview with Saudi-owned Al Arabiya television, parts of which the network quoted on Tuesday.

“But I do know that often comments are made publicly and things can evolve that are different. If it is the policy, it\’s very disturbing, it\’s very troubling,” he added.

I know that John Kerry is an incompetent.  I know that he has lied about many things – most revoltingly about his military service and his multiple “I threw away my medals” stories.  I know that in 30 years as a Senator he accomplished virtually nothing (try to find any major, or even moderately important bill that he sponsored and shepherded through to enactment).

But now he seems to be trying to convince me, and the rest of us, that he is a blithering idiot.

Finally, something he is showing some success with.

Earth to John Kerry:  Iran is a TERRORIST NATION.  Iran is THE WORLD\’S LEADING EXPORTER OF TERRORISM.  Iran IGNORES EVERY DEAL IT MAKES.  This has been true FOR THE PAST 36 YEARS, EVER SINCE THE RADICAL LUNATICS OVERTHREW THE SHAH.

Sorry for yelling, but apparently Kerry never heard that before.  Maybe now he hears it.

If John Kerry is disturbed and troubled that Iran is doing precisely what anyone who paid five minutes of attention to the country\’s  post-Shah history should know it would do, how could he possibly have been put in charge of negotiating a “deal” with its leaders?

And what kind of man would put him in charge?  Someone as naive, as ridiculous as he is?  Or just someone who didn\’t care about the quality of the deal – the scrapping of sanctions, while allowing the continuance of its nuclear program with no realistic inspection procedure and no realistic consequences – even if it put much of the world, very especially Israel, in mortal danger.

Will John Kerry, and his boss, find it “disturbing, very troubling” if Israel, watching this happen, decides its existence requires that something be done about the green light Kerry and Obama just gave to Iran?

Eighteen more months of this nightmare.  How can we make time pass faster?
