This year, the NASDAQ and S&P500 stock averages hit all-time highs, but the Dow Jones average did not.
Until today.
Until today, the highest the Dow had ever been at any time during a trading day (not the close) was 45,074. But, as I type this, it is at 45,156 (I believe, it started the morning even higher); a new all-time high. And if it closes the day above 45,014, it will also hit its all-time high for the close.
So the triumvirate – NASDAQ/ S&P500/Dow – is now complete.
And somebody owes us an apology.
It is either Donald Trump for assuring us that his policies – his tariff policies in particular – would benefit the country, and the massive number of media which assured us those policies would cause the markets to crash (among other horrible results).
I’ll leave it to you to figure out who should be apologizing.
