Today’s quote comes to us from one of the most quotable sources available these days; Rep. jasmine crockett (D-TX).
Here, from her commentary at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival (MVAAFF) this week, is crockett’s explanation of why most Black voters are Democrats:
“I talk to Black folk all the time as somebody that’s a child of a preacher. Listen, most Black people are not Republicans simply because we just is like, “Y’all racist. I can’t hang out with the KKK and them.” That’s really what it is. But when we think about who we are as Black people, and we think about where we come from, most Black people have very conservative values, right? But the reality is that like, we just can’t side with like the neo-Nazis and them. We like, “We not-, we not dealing with y’all like that, right?”
That is classic jasmine crockett. Speak at a primarily Black-attended event, and use ghetto patois instead of the perfect english she grew up speaking during her privileged, private-school childhood.
And, in this case, she was doing so during an event at a “see, we’re liberals, we’re nice, so don’t call us racist” event at Martha’s Vineyard – a bastion of White Privilege (about 3% Black…with, I am guessing, a large percentage of the Black population employed by the predominating White majority).
I award jasmine crockett Quote Of The Day for outdoing herself in hypocricy and phoniness…which, in crockett’s case, is truly a major accomplishment.
