This morning\’s Today Show did a two minute feature on Louis Head, the stepfather of Michael Brown. It told us that charges are being considered because, minutes after he stood in front of an already-inflamed mob and started screaming “burn this bitch down”, members of the mob did just that to businesses, cars, and whatever else they could find to torch on Ferguson\’s main street.
The story also featured Head\’s wife – Michael Brown\’s mother, Lesley McSpadden – assuring us that he didn\’t incite the crowd, it was already incited anyway.
Funny, though. Nowhere in the story did it mention that Louis Head is a twice-convicted felon, who spent five years in jail for drug-dealing, and – according to various sources (which I have yet to confirm) is, himself, a gang-banger, belonging to the “bloods”…..or, for that matter that Michael Brown\’s mother is facing assault and robbery charges for allegedly beating and robbing her first husband\’s mother while she and other family members were selling Michael Brown merchandise on the street.
Am I wrong to think that Louis Head\’s background might bear on his current actions, or that Lesley McSpadden\’s behavior might reflect on her credibility as his defender?
Presenting only part of a story may make the folks over at Today feel righteous, and assure that – at least this time around – the race hustlers like sharpton, jackson, etc. will not accuse them of racism.
Too bad that, in reality, censoring news for racial reasons is racism.
