CONFIRMATION

What else could one expect of a Hollywood movie written and produced by donors to the Democratic party, and starring an actress who has appeared at the Democratic National Convention?

Those words, written by Paul Mirengoff of powerlineblog.com, describe the HBO work of fiction it is passing off as an account of what happened at the senate hearings prior to confirming Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court.

I have not watched Confirmation, which aired this weekend.  But I have read a ton about it.  And I can smell the stench from here to HBO headquarters.

I urge you, in strongest terms, to use the link I’ve provided and read Mr. Mirengoff’s piece.  Then use the links he provides (which I am also providing) to read the commentaries by , Stuart Taylor, who covered the Thomas/Hill fiasco when it occurred, and Mark Paoletta, the Bush administration lawyer who worked with Mr. Thomas, and whose web site goes still further into chapter and verse of what a phony-baloney hit job this is.

If there’s one thing the left cannot stand, it is a Black man who doesn’t think the way they “know” every Black man should think.  A conservative like Clarence Thomas was, and remains, ground zero of their hatred as someone who does not tow their ideological line.

I have often said that it is amazing how much racism emanates from people who profess to be against racism.  Chalk this up as another example to toss on the pile…if you can toss that high up.

  • It was difficult to watch but I watched it and felt bad for Judge Thomas, again. This poor man having his name and reputation smeared, again. For the rest of his life and ours he will have this cloud over his head. What reason did the left have for doing this? An empty seat on the court? Elections this year? Both?

  • The Stuart Taylor commentary is only available to subscribers of the WSJ. I looked for the whole thing using Google but was unable to find a free way to read it all. If you have a link to where it can be read in full for free I would appreciate the link.
