AND, IN OTHER NEWS, FRANCO IS STILL DEAD

Spain’s strongman, Francisco Franco, died in 1975 – the same year that Saturday Night Live came to television.  For the next two years, Saturday Night Live mocked what it considered the overly long coverage of Franco’s death, both before and after it happened, by announcing, as current news each week, that Franco was still dead.

I thought of that this morning, as I watched the Today Show’s lead story, telling me that Jared Kushner, who will be testifying before both the Senate and House, this week, will deny there was collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign during last year’s presidential election.

Yeah, we know that.  We know that.  Enough, already.

For the better part of a year, Trump and the people around him have been asked about collusion virtually every day…

…and for the better part of a year, Trump and the people around him have denied any collusion has taken place…

…and for the better part of a year the Democrats and their accomplice media have come up with exactly no hard evidence to support the premise.

But still they keep asking.  And still they keep treating the denial they always get as lead story news, increasingly desperate for something – anything – to come up that would justify their obsession.

But there still is nothing.  Which makes them look more and more ridiculous every day.  But it has not stopped them before, and it is not stopping them now.

Oh, and nice touch, Today, for telling viewers “NBC has obtained” Jared Kushner’s statement making this denial, as if some great piece of investigative work ferreted it out – when, in reality, it was given to mainstream media this morning and everyone else has it too.

I’m sure you’ll fool some of your viewers into thinking your people did something special to get his statement.  Heck, you’ve fooled them before, haven’t you?  Lots and lots and lots of times.
