THE NEW YORK TIMES’ EDITORIAL ON VOTER FRAUD

You can’t say the New York Times doesn’t have an opinion about voter fraud.

But can you say it has a reasoned, intelligent one?

Well, here is the first part of today’s lead editorial on that subject, titled “The Bogus Voter-Fraud Commission” – in rust, with my comments in blue.  Please read it and decide for yourself:

The truth can’t be repeated often enough: The Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity, which held its first meeting last week, is a sham and a scam.  A commission investigating voter fraud is a sham and a scam?  You can say that 1,000,000 times, just as emphatically and it will remain just as wrong.  But, OK, you said it so let’s see your reasons.

It was born out of a marriage of convenience between conservative anti-voter-fraud crusaders, who refuse to accept actual data, and a president who refuses to accept that he lost the popular vote fair and square.  So far no reasons.  All you’ve said is that the people you hate – conservatives – can’t accept data – data wish DO NOT EXIST (if you don’t require a voter ID – a way of demonstrating voters are who they say they are – how can you collect data on voter fraud?  By definition you don’t have any).

And who cares about the national vote – which, despite your Captain Ahabesque obsession with it, is nothing other than a statistical anomaly that has nothing whatsoever do to with who wins the Presidency?  Maybe The Times thinks getting more votes nationally wins elections.  But it doesn’t.  And the fact that Donald Trump sits in the Oval Office tells you he is fully aware of that fact.

It is run by some of the nation’s most determined vote suppressors, the kind who try to throw out voter registrations for being printed on insufficiently thick paper or who release reports on noncitizen voting that are titled “Alien Invasion” and illustrated with images of U.F.O.s. I have no idea of what that is supposed to mean, do you?  The only votes Voter ID suppresses are illegal votes.  The rest of it is a mystery.

Its purpose is not to restore integrity to elections but to undermine the public’s confidence enough to push through policies and practices that make registration and voting harder, if not impossible, for certain groups of people who tend to vote Democratic.  Hold on a minute.  Establishing voter procedures that are exactly the same for everyone is going to make “registration and voting harder, if not impossible, for certain groups of people who tend to vote Democratic”?

Do these geniuses understand what they are saying?  They are saying that Democrat voters are less capable of doing exactly the same thing Republican voters are capable of doing.  They, literally, are calling Democrat voters inferior beings.

If a Republican called them inferior, The Times would be first in line to attack that Republican as a hater, and, almost certainly, a racist.  So what does that make the New York Times editorial writers?

Its first, shaky steps have already created chaos. At least seven lawsuits have been filed against it; dozens of states have rejected some or all of its bumbling, and possibly illegal, request for voter data; and thousands of voters have dropped their names from state rolls, with most telling officials that they didn’t trust the commission or were upset to find out how much of their personal information was public.  That tells us some states don’t like their voting rolls reviewed.  It doesn’t tell us one thing about what is a scam and a sham about checking them.

In short, the commission is a fraud on the American people, and a far greater threat to electoral integrity than whatever wrongdoing it may claim to dig up.   Uh, in short, you have yet to provide one scintilla of evidence to show that.  The sham and the scam is you.

You can keep reading if you care to.  The link is provided above.  But I think I’ve gone a distance towards showing you the Times’ problem.

Do you agree?  Disagree?  Your call.

Is that sort of like Russia-gate and You’re not my President???
Is it born out of a convenience by a Party who refuses to accept that they lost the Presidency and refuse to accept actual data????

    • free – the “actual data” are that when you don’t check to see who is voting/if they are legal, you don’t come up with any voter fraud. It’s like the owner of the business never checking how much is in the cash register at the beginning of the day, then matching sales to what is in the register at closing. The cashier can steal money every day, and there will be no actual data to show it.

      • Ken, I just wanted to use their own words against them [as I put them in italics].
The actual data I speak of is the election results [regardless of the cheating].
