Yesterday there was a “Mayday March” in Seattle, where some number of “the people” protested capitalism (a system which, I am betting, a majority of the protesters look to for part, maybe all, of their subsistence).

Do you ever wonder why people who hate capitalism, and have full freedom to leave a capitalist country to go where they feel the system is more equitable, stay in the capitalist country?
I wondered about that…for maybe a half second.
Then I considered the fact that our particular capitalist country has one of the largest, easiest-to-exploit, systems of social services (i.e. someone else pays your freight) in the world…
…and I stopped wondering.

Ken, I used the same argument the other day about the people who are anti-guns. It isn’t like they are limited in the number of countries they could live in that have banned guns. It is the majority, so why do they feel they have to ban them in the last western country that allows them.
