Time for an update on the signature legislation of President Obama’s presidency.
Here are the first two paragraphs of Megan McArdle’s article for the usually Obama-friendly bloombergview.com:
Well, the hammer has fallen: The largest health insurer in the U.S. has started pulling out of select Obamacare exchanges.
Five months ago UnitedHealth, which had been singing sunny songs to investors about its bright future on the exchanges, abruptly began crooning the blues. In an earnings call barely a month after executives assured investors that all was going swimmingly, they confessed that they were losing a ton of money on their Obamacare policies and described a pattern that sounded as if consumers were gaming the system — signing up for a few months, using a ton of services, and then canceling their policies. If this continued, they said, they would have no choice but to pull out of the exchange business.
Surprised? I hope not, given that, as of last November, more than half of the ObamaCare exchanges – 12 of the 23 – have closed down.
Didn’t know that many of them closed? Don’t be surprised at all – not if your information source is mainstream media….whose Lord and Savior, Barack Obama, is to be protected, not blamed for the unworkable monstrosity called ObamaCare, no matter how many times he lies to us about it.
To remind you:
-If you like your doctor you can keep you doctor. Lie.
-If you like your insurance you can keep your insurance. Lie.
-The average family will save $2,500 a year. Lie.
I don’t know off the top of my head what Mr. Obama told us about about accessibility. But if he hasn’t mentioned the shut-down rate noted above, he is either withholding information….or lying again.
Let me end with a thought: maybe this would be a good time to ask the candidates for President what they think of ObamaCare so far and what changes, if any, they would make to it.
I’ll wait…………
