THE PARAGRAPH OF THE DAY

Ken Berwitz
Today\’s paragraph the day comes to us from Jazz Shaw, writing for hotair.com.
This is Mr Shaws lament about the current state of affairs in Baltimore, now that the rioting, looting, and arson related to Freddor Gray\’s death has died down, and things are back to what passes for normal there:

The records show that we\’re barely the month of May and Baltimore has already seen 82 people killed this year. That\’s an increase of 20 over the same time last year. In addition to those killed, they are up to 134 non-fatal shootings for 2015, also a significant increase over last year.

As an aside, one might wonder how so many people are getting shot in Baltimore when Maryland already has some of the toughest gun control laws in the nation, drawing protests from Second Amendment proponents across the nation. It\’s almost as if these gang members don\’t care about following the law.

I award Jazz Shaw Paragraph Of The Day honors, for simply reminding us of what Baltimore is when there is no cause celebre to “justify” the street thuggery we saw just weeks ago.

What a sad, sad commentary on this thoroughly dysfunctional, violent city.
What a sad, sad commentary on what the people running this city will and will not rise up to do something about.
