ELIZABETH WARREN’S MEDICARE MESS

Medicare for all. And it doesn’t cost anything, it’s free.  Wheee!

Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?  But the problem is that, of course, medicare is not free. It has to be paid for somehow.

And that is where Elizabeth Warren’s “medicare for all” plan has become such a potential disaster that even the anti-Trump politico.com website is warning people about its political consequences.

From Marc Caputo and Alex Thompson’s just-published article, we have this:

Throughout the presidential primary season, Medicare for All has been debated repeatedly by Democrats on stages where Warren has largely ducked specifics and the issue of tax increases.

What’s different now is that Warren is emerging as the frontrunner — and centrists and pragmatists in her party are starting to hit the panic button as Warren’s plan seems tailor-made to make enemies of doctors, hospitals, the insurance industry and some employers.

Exactly right –  Not that it is going to cause Senator Warren to change her tune, however.

And as for her major opponent (at least as of now), Joe Biden? Here is his alternative:

“We don’t have to go that route. All we have to do is go back [and] restore Obamacare.”

Yikes.

You can bet that the Trump people will be running on a program of maintaining private insurance, but suggesting improvements to make it better.

Is there any doubt that, compared to…

…Elizabeth Warren’s joke of a plan, and…

…the Obama/Biden “if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor, if you like your insurance you can keep your insurance, you’ll save $2,500 a year” fantasy…

…Trump’s alternative, whatever it turns out to be,  is going to have a lot of support?

It should be more than a little interesting to see how this all plays out.

Let’s sit back, watch, and discuss as it progresses (or regresses, such as the case may be.)

  • I remember when we had County Hospitals run by the government for the poor. They gave basic medical care for people that couldn’t afford private insurance or had the ability to pay at a private hospital.
Then they passed a law requiring all hospitals to treat people regardless of ability to pay.
Prices shot through the roof and have risen ever since.
Let’s all thank the government or maybe at this point we should call them the giverment.
