HILLARY’S SOCIAL MEDIA TROOPS

She couldn’t figure out how to send troops to Benghazi, or even put them on serious alert.  But her supporters have no problem finding troops for this.

From Ben Kew’s article at breitbart.com:

Correct The Record, a pro-Hillary Clinton Political Action Committee (PAC), is spending over $1 million on online trolls in order to ‘correct’ Bernie Sanders supporters on social media sites.

“The task force will provide a presence and space online where Clinton supporters can organize and engage with one another and are able to obtain graphics, videos, gifs, and messaging to use in their own social spaces,” the group states.

“Barrier Breakers 2016 is focused on pushing out positive content to Hillary supporters online to counter negative attacks and false narratives,” Correct the Record’s communications director, Elizabeth Shappell, told The Daily Beast. “The expanded task force was established in anticipation of the general election.”

According to Campaign Legal Center lawyer Paul Ryan, Correct the Record is “creating new ways to undermine campaign regulation.” However, it is understood the Federal Electoral Commission will not be investigating the matter.

People who read a lot of political web sites, I would assume, already know there are paid trolls out there who log in under different names and fight anyone with a negative attitude about the person they are there to support.  But this carries it to a new level:  They are not just going to be armed with talking points, they will have a clearinghouse to exchange material and use it to intimidate and/or shut up the opposition.

Not that I think this will surprise you, but, in my experience, virtually all of this comes from the left.  This side of the fence is already rounding the far turn, while organized conservative trolling has barely left the starting gate.

And I’m especially intrigued by that comment by the coincidentally named Paul Ryan that this is a new way to undermine campaign regulation.  I am not familiar with what regulations he is referring to, but will, of course, try to find out.

The bottom line here is that if Hillary Clinton and the people around her cared anywhere near as much about the safety and well being of our people in Benghazi as they do about Ms. Clinton’s personal ambitions, we might have four fewer flag-draped coffins from that sorry part of the world.

Is that unfair to say?  Over the line?  All I ask is that you think about it.
