“Sometimes I think it’s a sin
When I feel like I’m winnin’ when I’m losin’ again”
Those lyrics are from the terrific Gordon Lightfoot song, “Sundown”.
I post them here because both the lyrics and the title are so relevant to today’s Democrat Party.
Yesterday, a federal judge, William Orrick, rules against President Trump’s actions against so-called “sanctuary cities”.
William Orrick is an Obama appointee, and is believed to have bundled hundreds of thousands of dollars for Mr. Obama’s presidential campaigns and personally donated $30,000.
A Harvard-Harris poll shows that “an overwhelming majority” of the country favors cracking down on sanctuary cities.
So what do we have here? We have a Barack Obama partisan judge ruling against an overwhelmingly popular action by Donald Trump.
It is highly likely Judge Orrick’s ruling will be reversed by a higher court…and virtually certain to be reversed if it goes to the Supreme Court (welcome, Judge Gorsuch).
But Democrats, to watch the cable news shows, couldn’t be happier.
In other words Democrats, fresh from losing the presidency, along with every other federal and state majority, are thrilled with an obviously partisan judge’s ruling in their favor that will be seen as a negative to an “overwhelming majority” of the country.
Which party do you figure will be the beneficiary of Judge Orrick’s ruling in the 2018 elections?
This, with a tip of my imaginary hat to Mr. Lightfoot, is the definition of thinking they’re winning when they’re losing again.
So far, Democrats have learned nothing.
