Today’s quote comes to us from Cokie Roberts (yes, she’s still around; sometimes I think past-their-prime “pundits” like Roberts, David Gergen and George Will are robotic figures that will never be gone).
Here, from yesterday’s ABC “This Week” show, is what Ms. Roberts had to say about why Hillary Clinton does not do well on a certain polling attribute:
“You look at the polling where you see that Hillary Clinton is losing on leadership, that’s all about being a woman”
Well, there you have it. Hillary’s Clinton’s low polling numbers on leadership have nothing to do with her lack of accomplishment. They have nothing to do with her performance as Secretary of State (name a success in four years – I dare you).
Nope, this is an issue of plumbing. If she were an outie instead of an innie, those poll numbers on leadership would be soaring.
I award Cokie Roberts Quote Of The Day “honors” for making a comment so absurd, and so sexist – that’s right, Cokie, SEXIST; it’s what you call a comment which subordinates everything else to the sex of whom you are talking about – that I’m wondering if her first name is also a description of her condition when she said it.
