YANKEES SO FAR

Apropos of nothing political…

While sitting here, bleary-eyed because I watched the entire Yankee-Red Sox game (which ended at midnight), I decided to do a quick analysis.

I looked at the won-lost records of every team the Yankees have played so far this season, and took out the games they played with the Yankees to get their won-lost records versus everyone else.  Then I multiplied the difference in wins and losses by the number of games the Yankees played against each team.  This comes to +88 wins.

The average team in baseball, of course has a .500 won/lost percentage.  But by applying the +88 factor, it means the Yankees, have amassed their current 16 – 9 record – a .640 won/lost percentage against teams averaging 3 1/2 games over .500 – which, through 25 games, is a .590 won/lost percentage.

Wow.

Great going, guys.  But can you please end your games when I can still get a decent night\’s sleep?

Ok, back to politics, where the won-lost percentage is so far below .500 that many congresspeople should be sent down to the minors.
