WISDOM FROM JUAN WILLIAMS

I don\’t always agree with Juan Williams.  And I don\’t agree with everything in his just-written column regarding the grand jury decision and its aftermath.  But a lot of what Mr. Williams says is spot-on.

You can read Mr. Williams\’ entire piece by clicking here.  Here is what I consider the key part:

Streetviolence, riots, only plays into the hands of racial provocateurs whoare too weak to engage in the constant, on-going struggle for equalrights and protections for black people. Those self-promoters arenever around to clean up after a riot destroys a black neighborhoodand tears at the trust between good people of all races.

Sometelevision stations, too, have practically called for riots. They areso self-serving that some have identified them as fans of “RiotPorn.” They want the cheap thrills that come with stereotypingblack people as violent and the high ratings that come with racialtensions. Their anchors want to be seen in the middle of the fray.

Yes. 100% yes. These thugs, and their disgusting aiders/abettors in media, not only are getting away with looting, rioting and general anarchy, they are victimizing innocent people who had nothing to do with the Michael Brown/Darren Wilson incident – very much including innocent Black people.

When do we do something serious about this?  When is enough enough?

The day violence was threatened – even promised – those streets should have been cleared.  And any physical resistance to the clearing of those streets should have been met with full prosecution.  No “bench warrant” crap, but prosecution.

I hope against hope that what has happened in Ferguson will teach this lesson for future incidents.  I don\’t at all expect so, but I hope.
