THE GRUBERING OF WISCONSIN

Jonathan Gruber has been a busy little bee.

It seems he did not restrict his honest appraisal of what ObamaCare really does to academic forums where he could call us all stupid.  He was there for Wisconsin as well.

Excerpted from Kelly Riddell\’s article at washingtontimes.com:

JonathanGruber, the MIT economist currently under fire for suggesting theObama administration tried to deceive the public about the AffordableCare Act, was hired by former Democratic Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle in2010 to conduct an analysis on how the federal health-care reformwould impact the state.

Mr.Gruber\’s study predicted about 90 percent of individuals withoutemployer-sponsored or public insurance would see their premiums spikeby an average of 41 percent. Once tax subsidies were factored in,about 60 percent of those in the individual market were projected tosee their premiums go up 31 percent, according to his analysis.

Inaddition, 53 percent of those insured by companies with fewer than 50employees, would see their premiums rise by an average of 15 percenteven after subsidies, Mr. Gruber forecasted. The report warned suchincreases could impact small companies\’ decision whether to providehealth insurance to their workers.

TheGruber study, which was released publicly in August 2011 with littlefanfare in the state of Wisconsin, was largely ignored by Mr. Obama, who campaigned in 2012 that insurance premiums would actuallydecrease under his healthcare legislation.

“Sowhen you hear about the Affordable Care Act – Obamacare – and Idon\’t mind the name because I really do care. That\’s why we passedit,” the president declared in a campaign speech in Cincinnati,Ohio back in July 2012, “you should know that once we have fullyimplemented, you\’re going to be able to buy insurance through a poolso that you can get the same good rates as a group that if you\’re anemployee at a big company you can get right now – which means yourpremiums will go down.”

Translation:  Jonathan Gruber knew, and Barack Obama knew.  But they didn\’t want us to know.  So they covered it up and, in Mr. Obama\’s case,  lied to our faces about it.

That doesn\’t make us stupid, that makes them liars.

If you want a reason to call the American public stupid, therefore, don\’t talk to me.  But if you want a reason to call the American public gullible, talk to me about electing, and re-electing, Obama.
