Here is the front page of today\’s New York Daily News:
Yeah, it will probably sell more copies…because the shock value addresses people\’s sense of humor and/or anger level.
But they will not be buying the Daily News because it is a newspaper. Newspapers do not put up headlines like that.
And, ironically, in doing so, the Daily News is behaving exactly the way Donald Trump does: popping out unfiltered, shoot-from-the-hip opinions that you would much more expect from the next bar stool or diner booth then from a serious presidential candidate…or the front page of what purports to be a serious newspaper.
I\’d call this shameful…but since I am hopeful most readers already know as much, and since the Daily News has made a habit of putting similar shock-value material on its front page in recent months, its “brain trust” (such as it is) would ignore me, what\’s the point?
