Are you aware of how significantly violent crime has spiked this year – especially in major cities with large Black populations? Let me start by putting up these excerpts from an article published last July 10th at USA Today:
After years of declining violent crime, several major American cities experienced a dramatic surge in homicides during the first half of this year.
Milwaukee, which last year had one of its lowest annual homicide totals in city history, recorded 84 murders so far this year, more than double the 41 it tallied at the same point last year.
Milwaukee is not alone.
The number of murders in 2015 jumped by 33% or more in Baltimore, New Orleans and St. Louis. Meanwhile, in Chicago, the nation\’s third-largest city, the homicide toll climbed 19% and the number of shooting incidents increased by 21% during the first half of the year.
In all the cities, the increased violence is disproportionately impacting poor and predominantly African-American and Latino neighborhoods.
And now, please read the following excerpt from Vadum\’s latest blog for frontpagemag.com. See if you can find a cause and effect possibility (the bold print is mine):
…police all over the country are increasingly reluctant, or in some cases outright unwilling, to perform their duties as law enforcement personnel. They know that government officials, eager to pander to loud, angry lynch mobs in the street, don\’t have their back. The mainstream media has been playing a supporting role, turning every police shooting of a person of color into a cause celebre, regardless of the circumstances leading to the shooting. So cops are taking unnecessary chances, ignoring police safety protocols and giving suspects the benefit of the doubt when it is not warranted.
This is the war on police that President Obama, Al Sharpton, and other racial agitators have carefully brought to a crescendo since the Trayvon Martin saga and the case of Michael Brown, an 18-year-old black thug, who was killed in Ferguson, Missouri, last year as he tried to murder white cop Darren Wilson. There has never been any credible evidence that race was a factor in the shooting yet the Black Lives Matter crowd and the rest of the activist Left continue to lie every single day about Brown\’s death. Brown tried to seize Wilson\’s handgun and the officer shot him in self-defense. The popular “hands up, don\’t shoot” meme was based on a lie a witness told in which it was claimed Brown tried to surrender to Wilson and was mercilessly shot in cold blood. Brown\’s body was autopsied three separate times to satisfy the angry mob and legions of left-wing conspiracy theorists. Wilson has been been vindicated in every official investigation. The local grand jury refused to indict him. Even Obama\’s race-obsessed, highly politicized Department of Justice cleared him.
Yet left-wingers continue to portray Brown as an angel, and Wilson as a villain. Not surprisingly, many Americans of all colors are swallowing this leftist propaganda. Manipulated by the Community-Organizer-in-Chief, many black Americans falsely view themselves as victims of systemic discrimination. They no longer respect police and are willing to beat them senseless on a whim. The Black Lives Matter movement is there on the sidelines demanding “war” against police everywhere.
Does Vadum\’s charge that mainstream media are aiding and abetting this horror show hold water? Obviously it does.
And who does it hurt?
Well, it certainly hurts the police. They are on the defensive, fearful that anything remotely looking like aggressive patrolling, even a thoroughly justified action which might be videoed, then shown only in part to make them look like the criminal, will destroy their lives.
For this, I offer my congratulations to police haters everywhere — and, very especially, to their facilitators in mainstream media. They have a major success on their hands.
But, that said, let\’s think about what else they have on their hands.
The answer is blood. The blood of people who are dying in the streets because police fear doing their jobs effectively – people who are vastly Black and Latino.
Go back and reread those increases in the murder rates. Then think about how many non-fatal shootings there have been. Count up the additional Black and Latino citizens who are dead or injured. And understand that this is the rest of their “major success”.
