TREASONOUS TRUDEAU?

On July 4th, I blogged about the Canadian government issuing a formal apology, and compensation of $10 million Canadian (almost $8 million US) to a terrorist who killed a US medic and injured other US soldiers.

Today, we have a reaction to this insanity from one of the men this terrorist scumbag damaged – and an opinion of what he thinks about the Canadian Prime Minister who signed off on it.

From David Krayden’s article at dailycaller.com:

The wounded warrior who was blinded by Omar Khadr’s grenade attack that killed Sgt. Chris Speer says Canadian Prime Minster Justin Trudeau should be charged with treason.

In an interview with the Toronto Sun on Saturday, Layne Morris says Trudeau’s decision to reward the former al-Qaida terrorist with a formal apology and $10.5 million cash settlement feels “like a punch in the face.”

“I don’t see this as anything but treason,” said Morris. “It’s something a traitor would do. As far as I am concerned, Prime Minister Trudeau should be charged.”

“The fact is Chris Speer and myself were fighting with Canadians in Afghanistan. We were alongside the PPCLI [Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry]. There was a Canadian flag flying along with the American flag at our base there, so it’s quite a thing that now Canada is giving millions to a guy who would attack a compound where Canadians were serving.”

Does Layne Morris have a point about what the Trudeau government has done?  You bet he does.  Apologizing and handing money to this unrepentant jihadist – whose father was an al-qaeda murderer as well – is right out of the “give things to the people who hate us and kill us, and then they’ll be nice” school of non-thought.

Is it treasonous?  No, I don’t think so – though I certainly understand, and commiserate with, why Mr. Morris thinks so.

My opinion is that Justin Trudeau is governing like an impressionable little schoolboy who was just given a “lesson” by a PC-compromised teacher and wants to get a “A” by pleasing that teacher/showing how well he has learned.  And this is the latest example of him trying to please teacher.

What a mistake Canada made by electing this child.  The sooner our northern neighbor rectifies its mistake and puts an adult in charge, the better it will be for them, and for us.

  • Layne Morris better not visit Canada, they are likely to arrest him on hate crime charges. You aren’t allowed to say mean things about someone, in that country.
