It is very possible that you just looked at the title of this blog and wondered what in the world I would be putting it up for. Why would you care what Trayvon Martin\’s mother\’s politics are?
But since CNN seems to think it has serious status as a news story, I thought I would mention that Sybrina Fulton, mother of Trayvon Martin, has endorsed Hillary Clinton for President.
You can click on the link and read her reasons – even see them on a video. Not surprisingly, they touch on how sympathetic and empathic Ms. Clinton is to women like Ms. Fulton…because, after all, Hillary Clinton is a “a mother, a grandmother and even a wife” so she knows….
I have a question, though. How many votes do you figure this wins Hillary Clinton and how many votes do you think it loses her.
Let\’s see: how many women are going to be more likely to vote for Hillary Clinton because of Ms. Fulton\’s endorsement (remember, we\’re not talking about people who would have voted for her anyway, just people she would gain because of it)?
I\’d say, oh, maybe 5 or 6 in the entire country.
Now: how many people are going to be less likely to vote for Hillary Clinton because of Ms. Fulton\’s endorsement (remember, we\’re not talking about people who wouldn\’t have voted for her anyway, just people she would lose because of it)?

So why is this story even being reported? Because bloggers like me can laugh about it?
