Other than Israel, you cannot find a place with more Jewish citizens than New York City.
According to the latest political poll, the leading candidate in the Democrat primary – the person who would be Democrats’ choice for Mayor of New York City – is…I’ll let Nick Reisman and Joe Anuta of politico.com tell you:
Zohran Mamdani, the young democratic socialist who has been rising in the mayor’s race, is now ahead of Andrew Cuomo with just two weeks until the Democratic primary, a new poll reviewed in full by POLITICO found.
The survey, conducted by Public Policy Polling for Democrat Justin Brannan’s city comptroller campaign, found Mamdani beating Cuomo 35 percent to 31 percent — a difference that is narrowly within the 4.1 percent margin of error.
Let that sink in: if the above polling data are correct, Zohran Mamdani – a socialist who refuses to say Israel should exist as a Jewish state, would be the Democrats’ standard bearer in New York City.
It is true that this is just one poll, and that, if I understand correctly, it was commissioned by Mamdani. But other polls put him in a solid second place. So taking these polls in aggregate, he is either New York City Democrats’ first or second choice.
That is today’s Democrat Party in New York City. How do you like it?
