TO SCOTT JOHNSON: THE ANSWER IS “NO”.

Ken Berwitz

I just read the latest commentary by powerlineblog.com\’s Scott Johnson, who, while in Council Bluffs, Iowa during a Hillary Clinton speech, engaged the woman sitting next to him in a discussion which hit on her use of a personal server during four years as Secretary Of State.

Here is how it went, and what Mr. Johnson makes of it:

I asserted that thereis considerable evidence showing Secretary Clinton had been grossly negligentin her handling of our country’s secrets. I further told her that there was astrong likelihood that foreign countries have hacked the private server and couldlater blackmail President Hillary Clinton and the United States. Thisopportunity for blackmail is blindingly obvious to me. Apparently many peopledon\’t understand or acknowledge the gravity of this problem.

The magnitude of thisproblem only reinforces the need for the FBI to inform the public of theresults of its investigation and the conclusion it reaches regardingprosecution. Is there credible evidence that crimes have been committed and hasthe FBI referred the case for prosecution? Am I the only person in America thatthinks that this is a big deal?

The answer to Mr. Johnson\’s question, from me – and, I suspect, a great many others whom you would never know about if you relied on our wonderful “neutral\’ media, is no.  A loud, emphatic, resounding no.

There are a lot of us who feel the same way, Scott.  Common sense tells anyone who bothers to use it that countless emails containing material no foreign power should ever have gotten, were obtained from Hillary Clinton\’s private server by exactly the people – the governments – we would least want to see them.

There are several Republican presidential candidates who, if they became the party\’s nominee, would force me to either not vote at all, or to vote for this incompetent, unaccomplished, dishonest fraud.  I can\’t begin to tell you how hard I am rooting not to be put in the position of making such a decision.
