What if I told you that a major, very well respected newspaper – say, the Washington Post – published a hit piece on the Koch brothers – thus warming the hearts of Democrats and leftists (often one and the same) everywhere…..but that the story was an easily checkable fraud, written by the wife of a left wing operative, and using as its basis a far-left web site\’s bogus information?
Would you think that paper owed its readers a retraction and an apology? Would you expect it to do something about the writer who perpetrated this fraud?
Well, here\’s your chance to find out for sure. Because the above scenario is not a hypothetical.
-The Washington Post, today, published a hit piece on the Koch Brothers – specifically the degree of their “involvement” in the Keystone pipeline – that is full of crap; a complete fraud, and a monumental embarrassment for the paper.
-It was co-written by staff reporter Juliet Eilperin – the wife of Andrew Light, of the far-left Center for American Progress.
-And its key source is the even further left International Forum on Globalization.
You can read all the particulars by using this link to John Hinderaker\’s devastating, fully referenced deconstruction of the BS parading as hard news. As you will quickly see, Mr. Hinderaker – an excellent analyst and writer – has outdone himself on this one.
Now let me ask you a question (and, by so doing, make an important point): if this were a staff writer for the Washington Post, whose husband worked for a far right web site, and whose key source was an even further right organization……
…….have you stopped laughing yet? I don\’t even have to finish that sentence. The point is already made.
