I\’ll make this short and to the point.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has asked for a special prosecutor to oversee the IRS scandal, on the grounds that the investigator selected by this administration, Barbara Bosserman, is a Democrat who has contributed thousands and thousands of dollars to the Democrat Party in general and the President Obama in particular.
And the Department of Justice, headed by Barack Obama\’s Attorney General eric holder has rejected this request.
What possible reason could there be for doing so? Read the following excerpt from Kristin Tate\’s article at breitbart.com and see:
Cruzsent his initial request to Attorney General Eric Holder on January22. He wrote in a letter, “It strains credulity to say that, outof the over 114,000 employees of the Department of Justice, the onlypossible choice to lead the investigation was a major political donorto President Obama. This, on its face, is a significant conflict ofinterest… General Holder… I would ask you to immediately appointa special prosecutor, with meaningful independence, to investigatethe IRS\’ illegal targeting of conservative groups.”
Nearlytwo months later on March 10, the DOJ responded to Cruz in writing. Aletter signed by Peter J. Kadzik, Principal Deputy Assistant AttorneyGeneral, said that the appointment of a special prosecutor “isnot warranted.” Kadzik admitted in his letter that such anappointment is permitted when a DOJ investigation presents a conflictof interest–but he denied the presence of any such conflict.Bosserman\’s name was not mentioned in the letter.
How did Senator Cruz react to this disgrace? Here is his response:
“Itis the height of hypocrisy for the Obama Administration to claim thatthe investigator leading the investigation into the IRS\’s illegalprogram has no conflict of interest. The investigator is a partisanDemocrat who has donated over six thousand dollars to President Obamaand Democrat causes… Nobody should trust a partisan Obama donor toinvestigate the IRS\’s political targeting of President Obama\’senemies.”
Could it be any clearer that the fix is in?
And, if there is little or no coverage of this outrage – just as there was little or no coverage of Bosserman\’s partisan history – will it not be clear that media are acting not as professional journalists but as political complicitors on behalf of the Obama Administration?
How do these people face themselves in the mirror?
