As I type this, the meeting between President Trump, President Zelensky and assorted European heads of state, is finishing up. And the last 20 minutes or so of the meeting consisted of Zelensky and one European leader after another falling over each other to thank Trump, and state that serious progress has been made.
This, of course, is exactly the opposite of what I would have expected if I believed the bull waste tossed at me by our media since Trump’s Friday meeting with Russia’s President putin.
So: can our wonderful “neutral” media find a way to tell us this was a failure?

Well, I watched the meeting on MSNBC. And the first post-meeting commentator it featured was Peter Baker – Chief White House Correspondent of the New York Times. Baker “informed” us that the only reason they all were so profusely thanking Trump is because, given Trump’s ego, they know they have to do so. In other words, don’t believe any of these heads of state, they don’t really mean it, they are just too weak to do anything else.
Am I surprised? No, not if it’s from Baker/what’s left of The Times.
Now let’s see how many other media people find ways to downplay this remarkable meeting. Given our media’s rich history of atacking anything and everything Trump, nothing they say or do will surprise me.
