Why does The Today Show tailor news to fit its leftward narrative? Do they think no one notices?
Sadly, for some of us they are right. But not all of us.
Latest case in point: the report on this morning\’s show, about two NYPD officers who were shot in the Bronx last night (both injured but expected to recover).
At about 1:40, the report mentions police turning away from Mayor de blasio at the funerals of Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu. The report\’s dialogue tells us that “during both funerals some officers turned their backs on Mayor bill de blasio”, and is accompanied by two pictures, in each of which one officer appeared to be turned in the opposite direction.
The clear implication of those words and pictures was that the protests were very limited in nature — which is 100% untrue. At both funerals, thousands of officers turned away.
In other words, The Today Show tailored the news to give its viewers a false impression of what actually happened.
Just like it did during the Trayvon Martin coverage two years ago, when it tailored an audio tape to make it seem that George Zimmerman exposed himself as a racist.
Today viewers heard Zimmerman refer to Martin by saying “This guy looks like he\’s up to no good. He looks Black.”, when, as is obvious in the unedited version below, he was just answering the dispatcher\’s question:
ZIMMERMAN: “Thisguy looks like he\’s up to no good. Or he\’s on drugs or something.It\’s raining and he\’s just walking around, looking about.”
DISPATCHER: “O.K., and this guy – is he White, Black or Hispanic?”
ZIMMERMAN: “Helooks Black”.
They don\’t ever learn, do they?
That reference is to the people who put together Today\’s news coverage…and to however many Today Show viewers still think they are getting impartial, accurate news coverage.
