THE SAME-SEX MARRIAGE DECISION

The Supreme Court, today, has ruled that same-sex couples have the right to marry.

As it should have.  This is a simple issue of freedom of choice.

To people who think this somehow lessens, degrades or otherwise sullies heterosexual marriage, let me point out that every heterosexual marriage which has taken place in the past and will take place in the future is just as legitimate and just as acceptable as before.

The ruling does not in any way affect/restrict heterosexual marriages.  It allows other marriages which, until now, HAVE been restricted.

Do you find homosexuality disgusting? Repulsive? Sinful? That\’s fine. This is America and you have every right to your beliefs.

But now, people who feel differently no longer are forced to live by your beliefs….any more than you are forced to live by theirs.

Let me repeat what I said above.  This is a simple issue of freedom of choice.  If two consenting adults, same sex or different sex, want to legally commit to each other, I wish them all the best, and hope you do too.

Nothing else to say.  End of blog.
