THE ROY MOORE ACCUSATIONS: UPDATE

Roy Moore’s attorney is now demanding that the original school yearbook – the one he is supposed to have written a seemingly flirtatious note to a student in, be made available for handwriting analysis, to determine if his signature is or is not a forgery.

Assuming the analyst or analysts looking it over are not hired guns, paid to come to the desired conclusion, that seems fair to me.

And now, as always with cases like this, gloria allred – the queen of finding women who make charges against men in the news (most of whom magically disappear after the media publicizes those charges) has dredged up a woman who claims that, 26 years ago, Moore grabbed her tush.  There, of course, is no way to prove or disprove this.  The same woman could claim any man she ever was with at any time grabbed her there, and none of them could prove otherwise either.

Let me state here, as I have over and over again, that I have exactly zero regard for Roy Moore.  I don’t want him anywhere near a position of power, and I certainly don’t want him in the senate.

But I also don’t want him, or anyone else, to be railroaded this way – partly for obvious ethical reasons and partly because if they do it to someone I don’t like today, they can do it to someone I do like tomorrow.

Two new polls have materialized in the last couple of days.  One shows Moore’s Democrat opponent, Doug Jones, now ahead in this race by 12%.  The other shows Moore leading by 6%

Which of these, if either, is accurate?  Beats me.

  • The fact that the writing in the yearbook is in two different colors and has letters and numbers written two different ways tells me something is fishy with it.
