Today\’s quote, which relates to the breakdown of “peace negotiations” between Israel and Palestinian Arabs, comes to us, via Mark Landler\’s article in Friday\’s New York Times, from an unnamed senior official in the Obama administration:
“At every juncture, there was asettlement announcement. It was the thing that kept throwing awrench in the gears.”
In other words, it wasn\’t Palestinian Arabs\’ decades-long history of rejecting every peace offer of every kind. It wasn\’t the hamas charter, which specifically calls for the obliteration of Israel – every inch of it – the killing of all Jews and the rejection of all peace talks. It wasn\’t the “unity” agreement fatah has with hamas, which means fatah is on board with that charter. It isn\’t that fatah names its sporting events and its plazas after “successful” suicide bombers who kill innocent civilians.
It is that Israel builds residential housing in Jerusalem (its capital city) and on land in Judea and Samaria (also known as the west bank) which is not sovereign to any county and Jews have as much of a right to be on as Palestinian Arabs or anyone else.
I award Quote Of The Day honors to this senior administration official for showing us, again, what the Obama administration thinks of Israel…
…with an honorable mention to the “Lost Tribe” – i.e. the Jews and non-Jews who support Israel but still support Barack Obama anyway, for the astonishing level of obtuseness necessary do so.
