Today’s quote comes to us from a source we could draw on for quotes just about every day: Donald Trump.
Here is what Mr. Trump imparted to us, via Jeremy Peters and Jonathan Martin’s article in Tuesday’s New York Times:
“Our Republican system is absolutely rigged. It’s a phony deal. They wanted to keep people out. This is a dirty trick.
“Don’t forget, I only complain about the ones where we have difficulty.”
Translation: It’s phony. It’s rigged. It’s a dirty trick. But if I’m the beneficiary of the phoniness, rigging and dirty tricks, don’t expect to hear a peep from me about it.
In short, it has nothing to do with the process. It’s all about Donald Trump. No one and nothing else.
As usual.
Donald Trump wins Quote Of The Day honors for bluntly reminding us of what really counts to him…and, therefore, what people who think he’s in it for anyone or anything besides his own glory need to know before voting.

At one time (maybe even now) in NYC, a nominating petition would be rejected if the wrong type of binder clip was used to fasten the stack of pages. Complicit election board clerks would delay the return of the documents until after the filing deadline, unless it was their favored candidate.
The whole process was laced with such opportunities, making a knowledgeable & experienced campaign manager indispensable
(and expensive).
