Today\’s quote is from President Obama. He made this comment on Monday, during a briefing at the Pentagon after meeting about ISIS:
“Ideologies are not defeated with guns. They are defeated by better ideas”
Can we now assume that Mr. Obama, maybe accompanied by Secretary Of State John Kerry, along with James Taylor and his guitar, will head for the roughly half of Syria and Iraq that ISIS has wrested control of, exclusively by use of gruesome violence and force?
Will they be bringing a policy paper that might intrigue ISIS into laying down its arms, maybe holding hands and dancing to “You\’ve Got A Friend”?
I hope they bring enough tambourines to go around.
Barack Obama wins Quote Of The Day “honors” because that hall of fame example of presidential idiotica – the equivalent of “let\’s chat with the people who hate our guts and want us all dead, yeah, that\’ll work” – is such a clear definition/explanation of why, whether we\’re talking about Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Israel, Russia or anywhere else, absolutely every result of his foreign policy has been a disaster.
